Born in Newport, South Wales, Allan Grant has been painting for more than forty years, working part time until 1995, when he abandoned journalism to become a professional artist.
He has achieved a reputation for creating paintings of his home town, Newport, and other favourite locations include Somerset, Dorset and Cornwall, and the East Neuk of Fife in Scotland.
Until recent years he worked entirely in traditional media, particularly oils, watercolour and pastel. More recently he has experimented widely in the exciting field of computer art, which offers virtually unlimited opportunities to progressive artists.
Consequently a whole section of this website has been devoted to computer produced paintings. Another section features Allan's photographic work, produced over more than forty years behind the camera.

If you would like to buy an original painting or limited edition print, Paypal buttons are provided beside many of the pictures so that you may pay by crediti card, etc. Paintings are normally sent unframed and unmounted to save shipping costs, unless otherwise requested.
